Feeling Spring , Already ?

Image
Well I am a mountain child, coming from the beautiful place called Shimla. I do not need to share its map, because Shimla is deep rooted in our hearts, even if we belong to this town or not. So coming from the white-knuckle and picturesque hills; where the winter time is nothing but a white fairy dawned by a beautiful glow of the winter sun and the chillness of a broken lover’s heart. The advent of Spring is like my most favorite time of the year; since childhood, I always have loved this season beyond words. Why? because. The air and the water is exhilarating, morning walks or evening saunter is spellbinding in the deep woods, one can be delighted over the chirping of the birds from their nest or a wildflower in timbers, the warmth of the sun, the clear blue skies with some faint cloud scattered over it, the convincing breeze carrying the fragrances of the budding flowers and the unblemished sky at night making one thrilled by the glittery stars ; this is what typicall

JOY

Image
Inevitably I did make a few of my friends sad , after my last post! It was a sad story, they proclaimed! Well yes indeed it was SAD. Anything that makes us a little disappointed is nothing but sad. We are clear in judging that a particular thing makes us sad. But do we sit back and say the same thing about something that brings us JOY? JOY, happiness, merry these words are so comforting to the ear. They are opposites of a bad feeling called sadness. We all experience joy even without trying hard enough, but do we really count it? I mean if someone asks me, “What gives you JOY? “, will I be able to answer instantly?   Think about it, would you be able to answer it?   And if your answer is yes! I AM PROUD OF YOU! No not being sardonic, but I am actually very proud of you, because in this fast moving world where we tend to dwell on sadness so easily , you know what makes you happy ! Speaking from my personal experience or hands-on as the IT engineer in me would want

Pyaar se darr nahi lagta, thapad se lagta hai !

Well yes I switched this famous quirky dialogue from Dabaang. Why I did it?? Well I will not answer this right away, I will first share a story with you and let you decipher the meaning of this above statement of mine!  So it is about a girl, conventional in her ways, extra ordinary in her dreams. Sassiness was her attitude and humbleness her way of life. Deep eyes, vibrant smile, long luscious hair that she always had some trouble taming and a charisma that could charm even the coldest of hearts.  She had the warmth of sunshine on a cloudy day and the cooling effect of the moon at a starry night. Like the gentle breeze of summer, she always brought with her a calmness a feeling of home wherever she went. Her crescent shaped eyebrows dawning her enticing eyes with languid eyelashes, sugar candy sweet lips and an elegant personality all made her nothing less than an Angel, and hence we shall refer to her as Angel! Angel is just like you and me. A young girl realizing a

I do ...do you???

The first thing that rings in our head after hearing this is the most awaited part of everyone’s life.  We literally have played this particular scenario in our head a countless number of times.  Remember Geet from Jab We Met or Kate Hudson’s character from Bride wars? Well yes that somewhere holds true for me. The problem with communicating less and thinking more is that your mind itself becomes a theatre. You start creating and enacting innumerable scenarios in your head. From eloping to destination wedding I have done it all (well in my head)!   It’s funny how I love thinking about the day I will be getting married, the dress I’ll wear, the Aisle setup, the mandap flowers, even the make up! But when even a slight chance of all this getting material seems to take place I and my thoughts both take a flight!    Is it the commitment phobia or is it just the baggage a socially or ritually recognized union  of two people (read marriage) brings? This social alliance is l

Chai Kasam!

CHAI —“Not a word, but a feeling”, read this line somewhere on the Internet, instantly shared it on my Facebook account.   Got a couple of “Heart” shaped likes , honestly if you ask me , I think they are just a way of pleasing your friends and telling them,”hey ,look I liked it. Was a little lazy to comment so a “heart-like”, just to be extra sure you noticed!” Well coming back, so I instantly got some 30, 40 likes telling me how they feel the same. But I believe mostly everyone out there feels the same, apart from my best friend she hates tea. (Surprised enough? yes people like her exist). But as for me, tea is “love”. It is like a cup of peace. I clearly can’t imagine my day starting without tea.     Well no I do not   enjoy the luxury of having tea served to me at bed , but my day literally starts when I   take my first cup of tea after reaching office, otherwise I just look like  a moving talking zombie. To get back to feeling Human,  tea is must for me .Chai is just

That four letter word!

Valentines gush is finally over and I chose this perfect date,14 Feb to kick-start this blog! Am I new to writing?? Well no I have been writing down essays, passages, love cards, greeting cards and those unread notes in my phone which have helped me survive certain situations in life.  But hey, haven’t we all done that? We all are writers somewhere. I am sure we all have those raw, unedited messages in our phones which if taken out can turn into nothing less than love sonnets!!   Pyaar, love, ishq, mohabbat is like the key ingredient for movies, books, songs, blogs. It would practically be impossible for one person to dig in and read out all that is written on love! So why is that this ONE human emotion has so much in the world written on it? After all,it is just a four letter word like Life and Hope ?  Maybe we are programmed to think that love is a necessity , it is life ,the single ray of hope we need to survive in this cruel world. Otherwise we will just end up b

A fork in the World of Soup

Image
“ He's like a man with a fork, in a world of soup .”   Noel Gallagher   humorously said this about his brother once. So for who don’t know , Noel Gallagher is the song-writer of one of my favorite bands “Oasis” ,Wonder Wall being their one of the most loved track , so Noel must have just simply said it but   it really connects deeply to me somehow Reading the line the first thought we have is that how would a fork help drinking the soup? We already have a set norm for drinking soup, a perfect pair like this (Image courtesy: Google ) So what would a fork do here?   Having several narrow tines on one end  it is just unequipped to even aid tasting of the soup. It’s imperfections in this scenario make it USELESS. Doesn’t this resonate with us and our Life?   World out there metaphorically is a huge bowl of soup, where we all are trying to fit in, evolve, swim, drown (imagine a housefly in your soup) or just survive until we meet our end. And the Soup spoon ,
