A fork in the World of Soup
“He's
like a man with a fork, in a world of soup.” Noel Gallagher
humorously said this about his brother
once. So for who don’t know , Noel Gallagher
is the song-writer of one of my favorite bands “Oasis” ,Wonder Wall being their
one of the most loved track , so Noel must have just simply said it but it really connects deeply to me somehow
Reading the
line the first thought we have is that how would a fork help drinking the soup?
We already have a set norm for drinking soup, a perfect pair like this
So what would a fork do here? Having several narrow tines on one end it is just unequipped to even aid
tasting of the soup. It’s imperfections in this scenario make it USELESS.
Doesn’t this resonate with us and our Life?
World out there metaphorically is a huge bowl
of soup, where we all are trying to fit in, evolve, swim, drown (imagine a
housefly in your soup) or just survive until we meet our end. And the Soup spoon ,the best norm is important to complete it like our incomplete soul's everlasting
search of someone or something to make a whole.
Whenever we meet the “Fork”
we suddenly term it just unworkable. Be it a person that doesn’t match our vibe
or a situation that doesn’t seem correct. There suddenly comes an urge to curse
our existence, be in self-denial, drown in misery as to why our life couldn’t be
perfect like others!. But do we for a moment try to think that this imperfect,
useless thing we are whining about can actually help us in one or the other way.
Maybe not today this moment,
maybe not in the days, weeks, months to come. But somewhere in our journey we
might just look back and say. Holding on to that thing would have been beneficial
today?
Hence the forks during our soup time may seem like a pain,
like certain hiccups and speed breakers we have in our normal routine, some bad
experiences, a breakup from a loved one, lost contact with the childhood buddy,
losing out on our dream job or just moving out from our favorite place. We
might want to just stop trying throw up everything and curse our whole existence,
but what we don’t realize is that having the Soup is just the start and our favorite
Brownie dessert is waiting for us and this useless thing right now may help us savor
the brownie’s taste the best way at the end!!!!
So don’t worry the start may seem confusing and mismatched
and you might end up alone struggling with wrong resources in hand, just don't stress over it , eventually everything will be its own purpose!!!
Enjoy each bit of it :) :)

ReplyDeletethankyou love :) .Keep encouraging and supporting like this
DeleteThat's really niceπ
ReplyDeleteWell that's Creative, the way you've related soup and fork with human experiences and pumped up optimism. Keep it upπ
ReplyDeleteThe way it is written is so unique. I have experienced this and yes, being optimistic and having patience are the keys. I would love to read more, Miss Blogger. Keep it up. ππ»
ReplyDeletemy understanding of optimism has been very limited but I do remember the song (good old school days). However this article really pumped in some motivation, fits the situation for me, and you have beautifully articulated your thoughts...:)
ReplyDeleteThe words in the above passage are like Pieces of a Puzzle, perfectly put together, for those who are sailing in the same boat. Each and Every word is a part of our ailing life and is true in it's deepest sense. We (sailors of the same boat) relate so much with the emotions presented above. It's just a matter of time to realise that a fork too can do wonders when used correctly. Waiting for delectable Brownie to taste it's essense.
